Nicolai Despot

Nicolai Despot (born February 24, 1986 ) is a German theater , film and television actor .

Life

Nicolai Despot spent his childhood and youth in the countryside on the Ammersee. After graduating from high school, he moved to Berlin in 2006 and first studied philosophy and history before training as an actor at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2009 to 2013 . During his studies he made guest appearances at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater , the Berliner Arbeiter-Theater , the Hebbel am Ufer and the Deutsches Theater . Before the end of his training, he started his first engagement at the Berliner Ensemble in 2012 under the direction of Claus Peymann . Since 2015 he has been working as a freelancer for the Stadttheater Klagenfurt , the Théâtre National du Luxembourg , the Ruhrfestspiele and the Hanover Theater, and this year also worked on the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante ( Out of Control) . He works as a speaker for radio plays for Dradio Kultur, WDR and BR. Since 2017 he has been working increasingly for film and television, where he made his first appearances.

Despot lives in Berlin with his wife and child.
