Nicolas Carnat

Nicolas Carnat (born June 12, 1934 in Basel , resident in Glovelier ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

The son of National Councilor Germain-Joseph Carnat followed his father's example and studied veterinary medicine at the University of Neuchâtel , then also at the École nationale vétérinaire in Maisons-Alfort . After graduating, he worked as a veterinarian in Delémont and Bassecourt . From 1989 he was a member of the Bassecourt municipal council , from 1991 also a member of the parliament of the Canton of Jura . In 1994 he ran for a seat in the cantonal government without success . On January 23, 1995 he replaced the resigned Michel Flückiger in the Council of States . In the October 1995 elections, however, he was unable to defend his seat and only held office until December 3, 1995. Then he withdrew from politics.
