Nicolas Ivakno (born May 5, 1980 in Montpellier , France ) is a French handball player . He is 1.93 m tall. It is mostly used as a circulator .
Nicolas Ivakno started playing handball in his hometown. At the local first division club Montpellier HB he made his debut in the French first division and even in the EHF Champions League . Here he won the French championship and the French cup in 2000; As a junior player, however, Ivakno was hardly given any playing time, so he moved to ES Besançon in the French second division in the same year. After two years he moved on to Villeurbanne HB, which had just been promoted to the first division, before signing with UMS Pontault-Combault HB after another year. With the Paris suburban club Ivakno rose again in 2004 to the second division, but in 2005 again immediately. 2007 finally Ivakno looking for a new challenge and joined the ZMC Amicitia Zurich in the National League A . With the club, which had just been promoted from the second division, he won the Swiss championship in the first season; however, Ivakno was mostly only second choice in the district behind Frank Løke . His one-year contract was not renewed; then Ivakno found a new engagement with his former club Eintracht Hildesheim , for which he played in the 2nd Bundesliga from 2008 to 2012 through the mediation of his old friend Damien Kabengele . He then joined the French club Pays d'Aix UC . The contract was terminated in October 2013.
Together with Damien Kabengele and Daouda Karaboué , Ivakno founded the organization KD Handball Cœur Afrique , which has set itself the task of helping children in Africa on the one hand and developing handball on the continent on the other.
