Nicolas Rea, 3rd Baron Rea

John Nicolas Rea, 3rd Baron Rea (* 6 June 1928 ; † 1. June 2020 ) was a British politician of the Labor Party .

Life

He was born to Philip Rea, 2nd Baron Rea and his wife Betty Rae. He attended, among other things, the Dartington Hall School and studied at Cambridge University . At the local Christ's College he obtained the academic degrees Magister Artium in natural sciences, Bachelor in medicine and surgery in 1951 and Doctor of Medicine in 1969. In 1981 he succeeded his father as Baron Rea . According to the House of Lords Act 1999, he remained as a hereditary peer in the House of Lords .

In his first marriage, Lord Rea was married to Elizabeth Robinson from 1951 to 1991. From this marriage there were four sons and two daughters. In the year of their divorce, he married Judith Mary Powell.
