Nicolaus Martin

Nicolaus Martin (born February 27, 1780 in Kriegsfeld , † December 13, 1869 in Erndtebrück ) was a German manufacturer and politician.

Nicolaus Martin was a powder manufacturer, businessman and post office owner in Erndtebrück. He was of Protestant denomination and married Hedwig Sinner (1783-1834). One of the daughters, Christine Amalie Martin (born June 18, 1812 in Erndtebrück, † January 6, 1894 in Düsseldorf), married Wilhelm Friedrich Groos . He was a captain in the Landwehr. In terms of local politics, he was an alderman in Erndtebrück. From 1837 to 1841 he was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia .
