Nicole Mikisch

Nicole Mikisch , née Nicole Leistenschneider (born May 10, 1967 in Toronto ), is a former German athlete.

Life

She took part in the Junior European Championships in 1983 and won bronze with the German 4 x 400 meter relay and was fourth with the 4 x 100 meter relay . In 1984, Leistenschneider was German youth champion over 400 meters in the hall . At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles she was used in the run-up to the German 4 x 400 meter relay, which then won the bronze medal in the final. The following year she won the German youth championship title over 400 meters both indoors and outdoors.

At the Junior European Championships in 1985, she won gold in the 4 x 400 meter relay and silver over 400 meters. In 1987 she became German Junior Champion. In 1989 she went to SCC Berlin and won the German championship title with the 4 x 400 meter relay ( Astrid Ortel , Angela Wilhelm , Nicole Leistenschneider, Ines Conradi ) . Then she switched to the 800 meter distance and won with the 3 x 800 meter relay at the German Championships in 1990 (Ines Conradi, Angela Wilhelm, Nicole Leistenschneider) and 1991 ( Katje Hoffmann , Carmen Wüstenhagen , Nicole Leistenschneider) . In 1992 she became German university champion over 800 meters.

Leistenschneider started for VfR Frankenthal , MTG Mannheim and SCC Berlin. In 1993 she married the hurdler Sven-Teja Mikisch (* 1965).
