Nicotiana sect. Repandae is a section of the genus tobacco ( Nicotiana ). There are four types of it .

description

The species in the Repandae section are rosette-forming , herbaceous plants . Their leaves are long-stalked or winged-stalked in the rosette, the stem leaves are short-stalked or violin-shaped around the stem. The hairs on the leaves are finely downy.

In most species, the flowers open at night, only in Nicotiana nudicaulis during the day. The crown is radially symmetrical or slightly zygomorphic , tubular and salver-plate-shaped or salver-plate-shaped and colored white. The corolla tube is sometimes very narrow (especially in Nicotiana repanda , Nicotiana stocktonii and Nicotiana nesophila ). The corolla lobes are pointed or rounded.

The number of chromosomes is n = 24.

distribution

The species are common in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico .
