The districts of the city of Boppard located on the Vorder Hunsrück are called Niederkirchspiel .

The districts of Herschwiesen with the district of Windhausen, Buchholz , Oppenhausen with the district of Hübingen, Udenhausen and the districts of Kröpplingen and Stabenhof, which belong to the local community of Brodenbach, are part of the Niederkirchspiel.

history

In 1476, a branch church that was detached from Boppard was set up as an independent parish in Herschwiesen and the four local districts were thus combined into one parish .

The name was created to differentiate it from the so-called Oberkirchspiel Halsenbach . The designation Niederkirchspiel has survived while the term Oberkirchspiel is no longer common today, but it was still used in the 18th century.
