Niels Christian Hansen (born December 16, 1834 in Næstved , † October 25, 1922 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish painter and portrait photographer .

Life

Niels Christian Hansen was the son of pastry chef and later photographer Carl Christian Hansen and his wife Henriette Christiane Koch. He was the younger brother of the photographer Georg Emil Hansen .

From 1851 he studied painting at the Royal Danish Art Academy . In 1867 he founded the photo studio Hansen, Schou & Weller in Copenhagen , which two years later was appointed purveyor to the Danish royal court .

He was buried in the Copenhagen Garrison Cemetery.
