Niels Destadsbader (born August 19, 1988 in Kortrijk ) is a Belgian pop singer, actor and presenter from Deerlijk .

biography

Niels Destadsbader began his acting career. After studying acting, he first appeared in the theater before being seen on television for the first time in 2007 in the youth series Spring . This was followed by an appearance in the series Aspe and a longer engagement with Familie , the longest running soap in Belgium, before he played one of the leading roles in the series Amika from 2008 to 2011 . He then played the Elven Prince in the three seasons of the fantasy series De Elfenheuvel .

In 2008 he also took part as a singer in the casting show Steracteur Sterartiest and reached the semi-finals. With Jij bent van mij he had his first single hit in the Belgian charts the following year . He also had vocal appearances on the Amika series and was involved in the series ' first soundtrack album. After his series roles ran out, he only released other singles sporadically and instead remained primarily known as a television presenter. In 2014 he led through the dance show Dansdate and presented the casting show K3 zoekt K3 , in which the successful pop band K3 was looking for three successors in 2015.

With Miguel Wiels , one of the heads behind K3, Destadsbader released the song Een beetje differently the following year as a contribution to the Rode Neuzen Dag . Shortly before, he had released his debut album Speeltijd , which entered the charts at number 2 and rose to number 1 a few months later . The album stayed in the charts for more than two years and was awarded double platinum . With a live version of Verover mij he had his biggest single hit in 2018: it reached number 4. It was also the pre-release of his second album Dertig , which was released that same year. It rose to number 1 on the album charts and also reached double platinum.
