Niels Robitzky

Niels "Storm" Robitzky (born July 31, 1969 ) is a German choreographer , hip-hop dancer and a recognized expert in hip-hop techniques like B-boying , locking and popping in Europe. He won several dance competitions and became world champion in breakdance in 1992 .

biography

He started dancing as a 14-year-old self-taught in Eutin. After graduating from school, Robitzky decided to start a career as a dancer. Through contacts with hip-hop dancers in the 1980s and traveling through Europe and North America, he further developed his dance style. In 1984 the group Unique Rockers and Tour for Bravo Breakdanceensation 84 was founded. In 1992 he was a member of the New York dance company Ghettoriginal and one year later in 1993 he advanced to VIVA moderator for the hip-hop show Freestyle for two years . In 1997 he founded the company Storm and jazzy Project . Today "Storm" lives with his family in Berlin and is present with his productions in theaters and at hip-hop events worldwide.

Surname

Niels "Storm" Robitzky got his nickname in New York after he outlined another dancer on the dance floor like a whirlwind after lightly touching it. The New York dancers had trouble remembering and pronouncing his real name anyway, so he was called "the Stormguy" from then on.
