The Nielsnapen is a 2525 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Gagarin Mountains of Orvinfjella it rises 5 km north of the Nergaardnuten .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). They named it after Niels Nergaard, scientific assistant on this expedition between 1956 and 1958.
