The Nietingsee is a lake in the area of the municipality Kargow in the Mecklenburg Lake District in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It has a size of about 0.85 hectares and is 65 m above sea level. NHN . The diameter of the almost circular, heavily reeded lake is 100 meters. It is located in the middle of the Müritz National Park just under a kilometer north of the Kargower district of Speck in the Mühlenseerinne , which was rewetted in the early 1990s when the national park plan was implemented after the area had been drained by earlier mill operations. With rising water table of there gradually created forest died off and it regenerated the fens that has since surrounded the Nietingsee again.
A circular hiking trail in the national park leads from Speck south-east past the Nietingsee.
