Nietner (gardener family)
Nietner is the name of a German gardening family who produced court gardeners in five generations .
history
The family tradition that has lasted for generations began with Johann Joseph Nietner. He was the son of the Berlin bricklayer Johann Christian Nietner and Louisa Rosina, nee Gäwernick. He completed his apprenticeship from 1743 to 1746 with the planner Johann Justus Sello in the Berlin zoo . For several generations, the descendants were responsible for the design and maintenance of parks and gardens.
