Nigel Barrie (born February 5, 1889 in Calcutta , British India , † October 8, 1971 in London , England ) was an actor of British origin .

Life

Nigel Barrie was born Roynon Cholmondeley Nigel-Jones in British India . He began his professional career as a stage actor and dancer before playing his first film role in Beatrice Fairfax in 1916 . Often he was locked into the supporting role of the bad guy. Barrie was married to Helen Lee from 1919 to 1925 and from 1925 to Gertrude Poklington . Around 1924 the actor also starred in several German silent films. After the silent film era ended, it only played in the UK . His last film was Anything to Declare? .
