Nihat Kesen (born July 12, 1961 in Izmir ) is a Turkish-German comic artist. He signs with his first name.

Nihat Kesen was born in the Turkish port city of Izmir and grew up in Holzgerlingen near Stuttgart from the age of eight . After graduating from the Johannes Gutenberg School in Stuttgart with the certificate of a graphic design assistant, he worked temporarily in advertising and designed comics for the back of the packaging of brekkies cat food.

In 1984 he contacted Hartmut Becker and Paul Derouet's Becker-Derouet Hamburg agency during the Erlangen Comic Salon. For the comic magazine U-Comix , he then created his comically macabre series Brave New World , which was heavily influenced by Franquin's Idées Noires ( Black Thoughts ) in terms of both appearance and content . In the tradition of the École Marcinelle , Nihat also drew the album-length Fred Flamingo adventure The Rebels of Citrus , also via Becker-Derouet , which appeared in Fix and Foxi in 1990 .
