Nikë Prela
Nikë Prela (also Nikola Prela , Nikollë Prela ; born July 3, 1918 in Kotor , Kingdom of Montenegro , † February 25, 1996 in Uroševac , Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ) was a Roman Catholic bishop .
Life
Prela was auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Skopje- Prizren from October 31, 1969 until his death . He was responsible for the Albanian-speaking believers in his diocese . Prela exercised his office in the time of upheavals and wars in the former Yugoslavia and stood up for his diocese and all its residents of different faiths. He supported Ibrahim Rugova's policy of peaceful resistance and was his confidante. After his death, Mark Sopi followed him as auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Skopje-Prizren. He was buried in Prizren , the seat of the then Skopje-Prizren diocese.
