Nik Xhelilaj
Kreshnik "Nik" Xhelilaj (born March 5, 1983 in Tirana , Albania ) is an Albanian actor and presenter. In Germany, he was in 2016 by its eponymous lead in the three-part Winnetou - remake known.
Life
Xhelilaj's parents are military officers . They also wanted their son to pursue a career in the military , whereupon he attended a Turkish military school in Istanbul at the age of 14 , which he left after seven months. Upon his return to Albania and his graduation Xhelilaj initially wanted law study. Since he was rejected by the university , he began to study acting at the Tirana Art Academy in 2003 . As a result, he also appeared in various theater productions in Albania, including at the National Theater .
His international career began with the lead role in the Albanian-Czech film The Sorrow of Mrs. Schneider , which was shot in 2005 and released in 2008. He got this role from Pirro Milkani, who became aware of him while studying acting. Xhelilaj had other roles in the short films Single Use (2005) and Real Playing Game (2013) and as the main character in the feature films Alive! (2009), The Albanian (2010) and Seven Lucky Gods (2014). Furthermore, he moderated the Albanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 together with Enkeleida Zeko and Hygerta Sako after he had participated in the Albanian edition of Dancing with the Stars . In Turkey , he appeared on two different television series.
In 2015/2016 he took on the role of Winnetou as the main actor in the three-part television series Winnetou - Der Mythos Lives , the new edition of the classic Winnetou by Karl May , produced for RTL .
