Božidar Ćurčić

Božidar Petar Milorad Ćurčić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Божидар Петар М. Ћурчић ; born July 3, 1946 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ; † November 12, 2015 ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian biologist.

Life

From 1965 to 1969 he studied biology at the University of Belgrade . In 1976 he received his doctorate and became an assistant professor at the Faculty of Biology at the University of Belgrade. There he was associate professor from 1981 and full professor from 1988.

He is (partly together with other biologists) the first to describe numerous species of pseudoscorpions , including mainly native species in south-eastern Europe, but also the species Ayyalonia dimentmani , endemic to Israel , as well as several species of pipods .

In 2001 he was elected a foreign member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .
