Nikias Chryssos
Nikias Chryssos (born September 25, 1978 in Leimen ) is a German - Greek film director and screenwriter.
life and career
Nikias Chryssos grew up in Heidelberg . From 2001 to 2002 he studied film and video production at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design in England . From 2002 to 2009 he studied film directing with a focus on scenic film at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and graduated with a diploma .
In 2005 he took part in the Talent Campus of the Berlinale and a master class program at UCLA in Los Angeles . His short film Down (2003) has been shown at over 60 film festivals. Hochhaus (2006) premiered at the 56th Berlinale and won several international awards.
In 2008 he was selected as one of six international filmmakers for the Résidence du Festival de Cannes in Paris.
His feature film Der Bunker (2015), a co-production between Kataskop Film and Geißendörfer Film- und Fernsehproduktion, premiered at the 65th Berlinale .
In 2018 he shot his second movie A Pure Place in Greece .
