The Nikkō National Park ( Japanese 日光 国立 公園 , Nikkō Kokuritsu Kōen ) is a national park in the Kantō region on the Japanese island of Honshū . It covers an area of 114,753 hectares and was declared a national park on December 4, 1934, along with four other parks. The park extends over the three prefectures of Tochigi , Gunma and Fukushima . In addition to a rich flora and fauna, the park also offers a large number of mountains and hot springs ( onsen ). With the IUCN Category V, the park area is classified as a Protected Landscape / Protected Marine Area . The Japanese Ministry of Environment is responsible for the management of the national parks.

- Nasu-dake volcano complex
On August 30, 2007, the western areas around Ozegahara (Oze Moor) were spun off as an independent Oze National Park .
