The Evangelical Lutheran Nicodemus Church is a church building in Hanover 's Heideviertel district . Together with the Petrikirche in Kleefeld, it belongs to the Petri and Nicodemus parish.

history

The Nikodemuskirche is located in Hanover's Heideviertel and is a simple, functional sacred building that was built in 1962/63. Originally the building was designed as a community hall. A separate church was planned, but was not built. Originally the area of the community belonged to the Aegidienkirche , since 1747 to the garden church, since 1873 to the Petrikirche Kleefeld. 1962 followed with the Nicodemuskirche a separate church building.

There is a partnership with the Luther community in Radebeul .

On the square in front of the church is a sculpture by the artist Hilko Schomerus , which depicts Bible texts from John 3 on its four pages. There are panels with explanations next to the sculpture.

organ

The organ was built in 1979 by the Hillebrand (Isernhagen) organ building company. The purely mechanical instrument has six registers on a manual (Gedackt 8 ', Principal 4', Reed Flute 4 ', Gemshorn 2', Mixtur III) and a pedal (Subbass 16 ').
