Miguel La Fay Bardi
Miguel La Fay Bardi OCarm (born November 11, 1934 in Chelsea , Suffolk County , Massachusetts ) is an American clergyman of the Roman Catholic Church and Prelate Emeritus of Sicuani .
Life
Michael La Fay (his birth name, in Peru, he later used the Spanish form of the name and added - as usual - the surname of the mother) came in 1954, the Congregation of the Carmelites at. Having a philosophy studies at Mount Carmel College in Canadian Niagara Falls was completed in 1957, studied Miguel Bardi Catholic theology at the seminary Whitefriars Hall of the Carmelites in Washington . He was ordained a priest on July 4, 1960 in Hamilton, Massachusetts . After that he worked mainly in Peru . Among other things, he was pastor of the Nuestra Señora del Carmen parish in Lima and from 1993 to 1996 Provincial of the Carmelites in Peru.
Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate in Sicuani on July 26, 1999 . The Archbishop of Lima , Cardinal Augusto Vargas Alzamora S.J. , donated his episcopal ordination on October 15 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Raimundo Revoredo Ruiz CM , Prelate Emeritus of July , and Lino Panizza Richero OFMCap , Bishop of Carabayllo .
On July 10, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
