Nikolai Borissowitsch Sokolow ( Russian: Николай Борисович Соколов ; scientific transliteration Nikolaj Borisovič Sokolov ); (* 9. jul. / 22. March 1904 greg. In St. Petersburg ; † 1. March 1990 in Moscow ) was a Soviet constructivist architect and desurbanistischer city planners .
Life
Sokolov was born on March 22, 1904 in Saint Petersburg.
1925-30 he studied at the WChUTEMAS (later WChUTEIN) in Moscow under the direction of Alexander Wesnin . His diploma project, designed in 1928, was a design for a spa hotel. Sokolow was a member of the OSA . 1926-30 he was scientific secretary of the magazine Sovremenaja architektura (SA) .
1929-30 he worked in the section for socialist development according to the state plan of the RSFSR . He worked with Vyacheslav Vladimirov , Mikhail Perschtsch , Mikhail Ochitowitsch, a desurbanist competition design for the city of Magnitogorsk , which was not implemented. In 1930 he worked on the competition design for the Green City , a planned suburb of Moscow. These plans also remained unrealized. Likewise the plans for Tschardschou , which he helped to prepare in a brigade 1931–32.
In 1990 Nikolai Sokolov died in Moscow.
