Nikolai Alexandrowitsch Kulikowski ( Russian: Николай Александрович Куликовский ; born November 11, 1882 in Evstratovka, Ukraine ; † August 11, 1958 in Cooksville near Toronto , Ontario ) was a brother-in-law of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II.

Life

Kulikowski was a son of Alexander Nikanorowitsch Kulikowski and Eudoxia Nikolajewna Charina. He served as a colonel in the Imperial Army in World War I and had already met Olga Alexandrovna Romanova , the youngest sister of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, in 1903 , whose unhappy first marriage was annulled in 1916. So both were able to enter into an inappropriate marriage on November 1, 1916 in Kiev . Olga thus renounced the rank of Grand Duchess. Tsar Nikolaus appointed Kulikowski Count Kulikowski-Romanow.

After the October Revolution he fled with his wife from Russia to Denmark, his mother-in-law's home country . In 1948 the couple emigrated to Canada. Two sons emerged from the marriage with Olga:

  • Tihon (1917-1993) and
  • Guri (1919-1984)
