Nikolai Makarovich Petrov

Nikolai Petrov Makarovich ( Russian Николай Макарович Петров ; 1892 - 1959 ) was a Russian photographer .

Petrow went to the Scherrer and Nabholz photo studio in Moscow as an apprentice . He was a soldier in World War I , then joined the Red Army , where he became an instructor with the All-Russian Executive Committee.

His photography teachers included A. Saweljew and K. Kuznekow. From 1924 he was a photo reporter for Izvestia , and during the Second World War as a front-line photographer.
