Nikolai Platonovich Sarubaiev ( Russian Николай Платонович Зарубаев * 1843, † May 28. . Jul / 10. June  1912 greg. In Kislovodsk ) was a general in the Russian Imperial Army .

biography

Nikolai Sarubaev was born in 1843. He graduated from the Konstantinovsky Military College in 1863 and from the General Staff Academy in 1870. In the following years he was employed in various divisional headquarters and was finally appointed chief of staff. In 1899, Sarubayev was promoted to lieutenant general. A year later he was appointed commander of the 9th Infantry Division and then the representative of the Siberian Military District.

When the Russo-Japanese War broke out , he commanded the 4th Siberian Army Corps from February 1904 to September 1905 . After the battle of Te-li-ssu , he also took command of the southern forces of the Manchurian army . He took part in the battles of Tashihchiao , Liaoyang , Shaho and Mukden .

After the war he was appointed adjutant general and inspector general of the infantry. In 1909 he was appointed commander of the Odessa military district.

He died on June 10, 1912.
