Nikolaos Psarros

Nikolaos "Nikos" Psarros (Νικόλαος Ψαρρός; born July 28, 1959 in Athens ) is a theoretical philosopher .

biography

After completing school in Athens, he studied chemistry and philosophy at the University of Würzburg from 1977 . He later moved to the University of Marburg , where he continued his studies. During this time, Peter Janich , whose student he was and to whom he dedicated his book "Facets of the Human", had a great influence . He received his doctorate in 1988, followed by his habilitation in 1997 on "Methods of Chemistry". Since 2004 he has been professor for theoretical philosophy at the University of Leipzig .

His main research interests are philosophical anthropology, natural philosophy, philosophy of science and history of science.

Psarros was one of the founding members of the Max Stirner Society in 2002 . Although he interprets Stirner's position as a “freedom-hungry egoist” and thus as a “misconduct”, he acts as a member of the scientific advisory board of the yearbook Der Einzige, founded by the former Max Stirner Society (which was dissolved in 2013) .
