Live and act

Here he published folk tales and collected sagas and fairy tales in which he found Germanic character and spirit . From 1902 to 1914 he was secretary of the German Association founded by Godefroid Kurth for the promotion and maintenance of the mother tongue in German-speaking Belgium . Here he campaigned for the Germanization of the Belgian province of Luxembourg . He preferred historical material in his dramas. From 1914 he worked with the German occupiers , published articles in the Arloner Zeitung , which was published by the German administration, and gave German courses to prospective teachers, which resulted in legal proceedings and the loss of his teaching post after the war. It was not until 1921 that he received the pension he was entitled to. In old age, Nikolaus Warker published linguistic studies on Luxembourgish names and proverbs.
