Nikos Frousos ( Greek Νίκος Φρούσος , born April 29, 1974 in Kyparissia ) is a former Greek football player .

Career

Frousos began his professional career in 1992 at the Greek club Ionikos Nikea , for whom he scored 59 goals in 190 league games in the following eight seasons. In 2000 he moved to league rivals PAOK Thessaloniki , where he was unable to establish himself as a regular player and only made 51 appearances in three years (27 of them as a substitute). Frousos was also not used in the two victorious cup finals in 2001 and 2003. In the summer of 2003 he returned to Ionikos for one season before moving to the Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta .

With Famagusta, Frousos won the championship title in 2005 and 2008, and in 2007 he equalized 1-1 in the 3-2 victory in the cup final against Omonia Nicosia. He ended his career in 2010.

Between 1999 and 2001 Frousos came to a total of seven appearances in the Greek national team . He made his debut on June 5, 1999 in a European Championship qualifier against Georgia . His last appearance was in a friendly against Russia on February 28, 2001 , and the striker failed to score an international goal.
