Niní Cáffaro ( Erasmo Alfonso Cáffaro Durán ; born November 25, 1939 in San Pedro de Macorís ) is a Dominican singer.

Cáffaro received his first musical training at the Schola Cantorum del Convento de los Dominicos , which was directed by Monseñor Rafael Bello Peguero . In 1959 he made his debut with Televisora ​​Rahintel in Rafael Solano's program La Hora del Moro . He continued his music studies and completed a degree in finance at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo , which he graduated in 1967. From 1962 to 1983 he was general manager of the Servicio Nacional de Erradicación de la Malaria . He then became PR manager of the Cervecería Nacional Dominicana , later the Empresas E. León Jimenes .

In addition, he continued his musical career. In 1962 he made his first record, the song Violeta , and in the same year Ayúdame a Olvidarte by Juan Lockward and El Corazón no miente by Juan Bruno Tarraza . In 1965 he had his first international hit with Rafael Solanos En Ruinas , followed by Cada Vez Más the next year . In 1968 he won first prize at the Primer Festival de la Canción Popular Dominicana with Solanos Por Amor .

In 1969 he went on a concert tour through the Dominican Republic and won first prize with Está Bien at the Primer Festival de la Canción Latina en el Mundo . This was followed by international appearances in New York, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Haití, and in 1972 he won third prize with El Juicio Final at the OTI Festival in Belo Horizonte. After that he also appeared in various television programs and gave concerts in New York, Miami, Puerto Rico, Boston, New Jersey and Caracas, among others.
