Nina Hager

Nina Hager (* 1950 in East Berlin ) is a German former deputy chairwoman of the DKP and was a philosopher in the GDR.

Life

Nina Hager is a daughter of the SED secretary responsible for ideology at the time, Kurt Hager, and his wife Sabina Hager, b. Shower.

From 1968 to 1973 she studied physics at the Humboldt University in Berlin and successfully defended her dissertation in 1976, philosophical questions of model problems using solid-state physics as an example . In 1987 the doctorate B ( habilitation ) took place with the work Mensch und Kosmos in the scientific-technical revolution (philosophical-ideological aspects) .

From the end of the 1970s, Hager worked under the direction of Herbert Hörz at the Central Institute for Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences in the GDR in the department of Philosophical Issues in Scientific Development , where he worked under Peter Ruben until December 31, 1991 . In 1989 she was appointed professor by the President of the Academy .

Nina Hager was deputy chairwoman of the DKP and member of the board of the political association Marx-Engels-Stiftung . From 2012 to 2016 she was editor-in-chief of the DKP periodical Our Time .

Nina Hager lives in Berlin and has a brother six years older. She has been a member of the Leibniz Society for Science in Berlin since 2017 .
