Nina Werner

Nina Werner (born September 25, 1986 in Hanau ) is a German comic artist . She uses typical style elements from Manga and Anime in her works .

She won in 2003 with her first short story Perfection in Manga -Talente Competition of the Leipzig Book Fair took second place in the category History 16 years . She was then commissioned to draw the Manga Talents 2004 logo and was also a member of the jury that judged the winners of the subsequent competition.

In 2003, Carlsen Comics became aware of the then sixteen-year-old through her participation in the Manga Talents. In 2005 Werner published her first work Jibun-Jishin (Eng. "I myself") in the German manga magazine Daisuki at Carlsen, which was later published as an anthology in Germany , France , Greece , Italy and Spain . At the same time as Jibun-Jishin , she drew short stories for various school books and contributed a short story called Lucky Mishap for a free Deutsche Bahn comic magazine .

Jibun-Jishin was awarded the Sondermann Audience Award at the 2006 Frankfurt Book Fair in the category “Manga self-published (national)”. The author announced at this fair that she would henceforth also draw works for the TOKYOPOP publishing house.
