The Nipissing River is a 75 km long river in the district of Nipissing in the Canadian province of Ontario . It runs continuously through the area of ​​the Algonquin Provincial Park .

The Nipissing River rises 2 km southwest of Big Bob Lake at an altitude of 480  m in the west of the Algonquin Provincial Park. From there, the river flows in a predominantly north-easterly direction through a landscape of the Canadian Shield rich in lakes and forests and finally flows into the south bank of Cedar Lake . This is drained via the Petawawa River and Ottawa River .
