Njubou Island is an inland island in the Gambia River in the West African state of Gambia .

The uninhabited island of around nine square kilometers is located in the river north of Pappa Island . It is about seven kilometers long and 2000 meters wide. On the south side of the island, the Gambia is around 500 meters wide, on the north side there is no pronounced canal, this side is characterized by a mangrove forest that only leaves a small canal of around ten meters free. To the east, i.e. upstream, numerous bolongs cross the island and make the mangrove forest impenetrable.
