Pappa Island is an inland island in the Gambia River in the West African state of Gambia .
The uninhabited island, about ten square kilometers in size, is located about 15 kilometers downstream from Pasari Island . It is about ten kilometers long and 900 meters wide. On the north side of the island, the Gambia is around 400 meters wide, with the island of Njubou Island in front of the river bank . On the south side of Pappa Island, the river is around 150 meters wide and narrows to 75 meters at its narrowest point. In the southern channel there is also the smaller island Little Pappa Island . In front of the eastern side, i.e. upstream, lies the offshore island of Ba Faraba Island, separated by an approximately 48 meter wide canal .
