No More is a band from Kiel that was founded in 1979. The band's roots are in the early post-punk / no-wave environment.

history

No More was founded in the summer of 1979 by Andy A. Schwarz (vocals, guitar, bass), Tina Sanudakura (synthesizer), Christian Darc (drums, vocals) and Thomas Welz (bass, vocals) in Kiel . No More's first release was the 7 "single Too Late in 1980 and was recorded in a laundry room and the adjacent basement rehearsal room. After Thomas Welz left the band in late 1980, No More worked as a trio until the end of 1983.

The song Suicide Commando (after which the Belgian band Suicide Commando was named), released in 1981, is No More's biggest success to date. The New Musical Express described Suicide Commando in 1981 as "suitable German electro fashion", but the song spread across genres and scenes in the following years. Techno and electro fans discovered him in the 1990s when he was remixed by DJ Hell and Echopark .

In 1982 No More released the 10 "mini LP A Rose Is a Rose . The New Musical Express seemed to have made the music by people," who seem to have fallen out of Lou Reeds Berlin album ". According to A Rose Is a Rose No More broke new ground. The new style was a mixture of dark wave and oriental elements. No More then went on extensive tours through Germany and the Benelux countries. After a short collaboration with bassist Yvonne Pfeifer, Thorsten Hartung joined the band in 1984 .

At the end of 1986, after recording the LP Hysteria , No More decided to go their separate ways. After the separation, Tina Sanudakura and Andy A. Schwarz form the Nijinsky Style project, which moves stylistically between chanson , waltz and tango .

In 2006 No More released new songs for the first time in the line-up of Tina Sanudakura and Andy A. Schwarz on the compilation album Remake / Remodel . No More have been performing live again since the end of 2008 and released the albums Midnight People & Lo-Life Stars , Sisyphus and Silence & revolt in 2010 and 2012 .
