Noah Fischer

Noah Fischer (born December 28, 1971 in Sigmaringen ) is a German musician ( saxophone , clarinet , flute, EWI). He was best known as the saxophonist of Udo Lindenberg and as part of the band of the music duo Yello .

Life and career

Noah Fischer grew up in Sigmaringen and after graduating from high school, studied saxophone at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart in the jazz and popular music course with Bernd Konrad . Karsten Gorzel, with whom Noah Fischer took private studies, also exerted a great influence. Numerous engagements at Stage Entertainment followed , including for the productions Hinterm Horizont and Der Glöckner von Notre Dame as well as guest appearances in classical symphony orchestras and with well-known artists from the fields of rock, pop, jazz and soul. Noah Fischer has lived in Berlin since 2006.

Since 2011 he has been working as a musician for Udo Lindenberg . Fischer was responsible for the relaunch of the Pustefix wind instruments (brass section of panic orchestra), writes arrangements and worked on the success of albums Stronger than the time , MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic , Stronger than Time - Live and MTV Unplugged 2 - Live from the Atlantic with . In addition, he is the artistic director of the project Hinterm Horizont macht Schule of the Udo Lindenberg Foundation .

Noah Fischer has been a saxophonist in the band of the Swiss duo Yello since autumn 2016 . The first concerts in Berlin were recorded, followed by a performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival and a tour. He also works as a composer and developer of live shows for international companies. Noah is currently also doing his solo shows and working on his first album. His program is entitled "Wonderful World" and premiered in autumn 2019 in the sold-out Sigmaringer Stadthalle.

Fischer is considered a very multi-faceted and versatile musician. He plays sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone and bass saxophone, Eb, Bb and A clarinet , bass clarinet, flute, piccolo flute, EWI, piano and keyboards. He sees himself as a "pop saxophonist who uses some jazz elements."

Influences

Fischer describes a concert by Al Jarreau as a decisive event for his decision to become a professional musician. But pop stars like Michael Jackson and jazz saxophonists like David Sanborn are also influential figures.
