Noah Seitz

Noah Seitz (* in Corvallis / Oregon ) is an American cellist and music teacher.

Seitz had his first cello lessons with Sylvie Spengler and Nancy Sowdon . He studied at the University of Northern Texas and at the University of Missouri – Kansas City with Carter Enyeart , where he completed his bachelor's degree in 2001. At the University of Oregon he was a student of Steve Pologe , taught as an assistant and won the 2003 music school concert competition with a performance of Ernest Bloch's Schelomo . He also attended master classes by Jeffrey Solo , Steven Isserlis and Zara Nelsova, the Tang, Ying, Emerson, and St. Lawrence Quartet. Since 2003 he has lived with his wife, the pianist Sara Greenleaf , in Keizer / Oregon, where he founded the Keizer Academy of Music and Arts with her . He also teaches chamber music at Pacific University , of which he is a member, and gave chamber music workshops at Oregon State University for two years .

Seitz has appeared as a soloist with the Oregon Mozart Players , the Eugene Symphony and other ensembles in Oregon, at the Camerata Musica Chamber Music Series in Salem and at the Chintimini Chamber Music Festival in Corvallis. He played Johannes Brahms ' Concerto for Violin and Cello with the Willamette Valley Symphony and violinist Jessica Lambert .
