Noblesse Oblige is a two-piece band that was founded in 2004 in London by the German songwriter and producer Sebastian Lee Philipp and the French actress and singer Valerie Renay.

history

Their debut album Privilege Entails Responsibility (the English translation of the French band name, in German: Adel committed ) was released in 2006 on the English label Horseglue Records.

In 2008 the move to Berlin followed and the second album In Exile on the German label RepoRecords.

In 2010 the third album Malady was released on RepoRecords.

Awards

For the album In Exile the band won the Russian Music Prize Steppenwolf Music Award as “Best foreign band 2009”.

In addition to Mia and Polarkreis 18, Noblesse Oblige in 2008 received artist funding from the Federal Government's “Initiative Musik” for culture and media.

Others

In addition to her role in Noblesse Oblige, Valerie Renay is also active as a film and theater actress. She was most recently seen in the film L'amour toujours by the Dutch director Edwin Brienen.

In addition to Noblesse Oblige, Sebastian Lee Philipp also runs the music project The Robber and the Prince .
