Noel McLoughlin (singer)
Noel McLoughlin (* 1955 in Limerick ) is an Irish musician and interpreter of traditional especially Irish or Scottish folk music.
Life
Noel McLoughlin was born in Limerick, southwest Ireland, in 1955. He started playing the guitar when he was 15. He was influenced by bands like the Johnstons, Planxty , De Dannan and others. He played in various music groups in the 1970s, including Cromlach and Celtic Tradition. As a solo singer for Irish folk songs, he toured Europe and the USA. In Ireland he sang songs from the 1960s and 1970s as well as Irish folk and Irish ballads on his tours. He has appeared on Irish radio and television shows and has released several singles. Since 1988 he has released four pure solo albums with Irish and Scottish folklore music as well as other albums. His success is based on his impressive, gentle voice and his guitar music, which particularly inspires the audience of his live concerts.
