Nogueira is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Nogueira belongs to the district Maia in the district of Porto . The community had an area of 3.5 km² and 5522 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Nogueira and Silva Escura merged to form the new municipality of Nogueira e Silva Escura .
