Nomada discrepans is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species isvery similar to Nomada flavoguttata .

features

The bees are 5 to 6 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The tergites are darkened at the base, the disc and the rear edge are red. The second and third tergites have yellow spots on the sides. The labrum is red and often darkened. It has three teeth. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The last antenna segment is also light yellow at the top. The scutellum is spotted red in some individuals. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are provided with a bristle hair and four to five short, close together small thorns. The males have a black head and thorax with red markings. The tergites are basal black, otherwise red with two large yellow spots that almost form bands. The labrum is black, but rarely also yellow and has a tooth. The third antenna segment is very short, the fourth is twice as long as it is wide. The label is black and most individuals have a red dot on each side lobe. The rails of the hind legs have two or three small thorns at the end.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is widespread in northwest Africa, southern and in some places in central Europe. The animals fly in two generations from mid-April to mid-August. Which species are parasitized by Nomada discrepans is unknown.
