Nomada flavoguttata is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species isvery similar to Nomada discrepans .
features
The bees have a body length of 5 to 7 millimeters. The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The tergites are red, the first is basal black, the second and third have yellow spots. The labrum is usually black, but rarely yellow, and has three teeth, the middle of which is often larger than the other two. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The scutellum has two red spots. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are provided with a bristle hair and two to four short, small thorns at the end. The males have black heads with yellow markings. The thorax is black. Like the tergites, the calli are red. The latter are more or less darkened at the base. There are yellow spots on the second through fifth tergites. The labrum is black, but rarely also yellow. The third antenna segment is much shorter than the fourth. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs have short hairs. The rails of the hind legs are rounded at the end and have bristle hair and two or three short, small thorns.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is distributed throughout Europe. The animals fly from mid-March to late August. The species parasitizes Andrena falsifica , Andrena minutula , Andrena minutuloides , Andrena semilaevis and Andrena subopaca . Presumably they also parasitize other species of the Andrena minutula group. The long flight time is due either to two generations or the dependency of the different hosts .
