The trade school , which opened in 1836, was intended for both those who wanted to continue their education and for boys who had been discharged from the boys' school and who were doing an apprenticeship. In August 2005 the name was changed to Vocational Training School Winterthur BBW .

Lessons take place in four school buildings as well as the Rennweg sports complex with six halls and outdoor areas.
