Nomada fabriciana is a bee from the family of Apidae . Individuals with more yellow content can beconfusedwith Nomada gransassoi .

features

The bees have a body length of seven to eleven (females) or seven to ten millimeters (males). The head and thorax are black in the females, sometimes the mandibles , cheeks, calli and the scutellum are marked red. The tergites are light to dark red. The base of the first tergite is black, the second has yellow spots in some individuals. The mandibles have two teeth. The front half of the labrum has small teeth. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth, the last antennae is more or less yellowish. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs have several black, small thorns lying next to each other at the end. The males look similar to the females, their antennae are often dark at the tip. There are rarely individuals in whom the mandibles, labrum and cheeks are patterned yellow.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in large parts of Europe. The animals fly in two generations from mid-March to early August. The species parasitizes Andrena bicolor , Andrena chrysosceles and Andrena angustior .
