Nomada furva is a bee from the family of Apidae .
features
The bees have a body length of 4 to 6 millimeters (females) or 4 to 5 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The tergites are basal black, otherwise red. The labrum is red and has three small teeth in front of the front edge. The third antenna segment is the same length as the fourth. The scutellum is spotted in red. The splints ( tibia) of the hind legs have a bristle hair and two small thorns. The head and thorax of the males are black and have little yellow-red markings. The tergites are brown-black and have yellow spots. The labrum is dark and has three teeth. The label is black. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs have a hair fringe at the bottom. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are pointed at the end, have bristle hair and two small thorns.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in southern and central Europe. The animals fly in two generations from early April to mid-September. They parasitize Lasioglossum leucopus , Lasioglossum minutulum , Lasioglossum morio , Lasioglossum punctatissimum and probably other small Lasioglossum species as well.
