Nomada linsenmaieri is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species looksvery similar to Nomada fuscicornis .
features
The bees are 5 to 6 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The basal tergites are partly black, otherwise red. The labrum is black and has a krenulated transverse ridge. The third antennae is longer than the fourth. The mesonotum and scutellum have smooth spaces between the punctiform structures. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and carry a strip of very small, thorns. The heel phalanx (metatarsus) on the hind legs, unlike the similar species, has a weak longitudinal impression on the outside. The head and thorax of the males are black, the mandibles and calli are yellow. The tergites are red and basal more or less black. The second tergite has two yellow spots on each side. The third antenna element is slightly longer than the fourth. The tergites are structured quite roughly in point form. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs are provided with a white hair fringe at the bottom. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are quite blunt at the end and have a few short, small thorns.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in Morocco, the Iberian Peninsula and France. The animals fly from late May to early September. Which hosts they parasitize is unknown.
