Nomada fuscicornis is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species lookssimilar to Nomada linsenmaieri .
features
The bees are 5 to 7 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and have little red markings. The tergites are basal black, otherwise red. The labrum is long, black and has a toothed transverse ridge. The third antennae is longer than the fourth. The weakly humped scutellum is black. Like the mesonotum, it has smooth spaces between the punctiform structures. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have a strip of very small, black thorns. The heel phalanx (metatarsus) on the hind legs lacks the longitudinal impression. The males look similar to the females, but their head and thorax are black and have only faint yellow markings. The fourth antennae is wider than it is long.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is widespread in Central and Northern Europe. The animals fly from early April to late September. They parasitize Panurgus calcaratus .
