Nomada moeschleri is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees are 8 to 11 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and have red markings. The basal tergites are more or less black and otherwise red. There are also often yellow spots on the second to fifth tergite. The mandibles have an additional tooth. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end, have bristle hair and a clearly visible, thick, dark, small thorn. The males are similar to the females, but have yellow markings on the head and less red in their markings on the thorax.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed from the Alps to Northern Europe. The animals fly from late May to early July. They are believed to parasitize Andrena haemorrhoa .
